Lego accidentally shows the all-new Defender

KUALA LUMPUR: For a couple of months now, Land Rover has been teasing us with the all-new Defender. The automaker on several occasions showed the upcoming car design language, though wrapped in camouflage. Also, the company confirmed that the car had completed over 1.2 million kilometres of test run and development. In another update, like other Land Rover vehicles, the new Defender won’t be manufactured in the U.K.

However, we are really eager to see how the new Defender would look like. It seems like we won’t have wonder anymore now, as Lego appears to have accidentally revealed the new Defender, in bricks form.

Someone from Lego shared the company’s latest creation, based on Defender online. The said Lego-based Defender set was previously on display at the Smyths Toy’s and the car looked like the next-gen model. On a close look, one can observe a revised front fascia along with flared wheel arches.

Compared to the camouflaged pictures, the Lego Defender shows the same front bumper and door design. Although we are not sure whether or not the power winch attached to the front will make it to the production version or not.

The Lego Technic set is said to go on sale somewhere around in October this year and will comprise of approximately 2,573 pieces. The new Lego Defender will come with independent suspension, three differential, and four-speed sequential gearbox. As for the dimensions, the brick Land Rover Defender will measure 42 cm X 20 cm X 22 cm (L X W X H).

The all-new Land Rover Defender will make its global debut in Q1 of 2020. However, we have no clue about the 4X4 arrival in Malaysia.
