Malaysia gets the all-new Lexus ES 250, priced starts at RM 300k

KUALA LUMPUR: At the 2018 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show was introduced the 7th-gen Lexus ES 250. And now the sedan is officially here in Malaysia with the pre-booking for the car opened since July when it was previewed at Lexus Mutiara Damansara.

In Malaysia, the ES 250 will be available as a CBU import unit and in two variants -

• Lexus ES 250 Premium - RM 299,888
• Lexus ES 250 Luxury - RM 332,888

The latest sedan by Lexus sits on the company’s Global Architecture (GA-K) that is essentially a Lexus version of TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform.

On the dimension front, the car now measures 66 mm longer and 46 mm wider than the previous model. Thus, bringing the total to 4,975 mm in length and 1,865 mm in width. The wheelbase is 51 mm longer, i.e., at 2,870 mm.

The new Lexus ES 250 is powered by a 2.5-litre Dynamic Force 4-cylinder powerplant that poops out 204 hp of power at 6,600 rpm along with a peak torque of 247 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The A25A-FKS direct-injection petrol mill is coupled with an 8-speed Direct-Shift automatic gearbox that’ll transmit power to the front wheels.

On the performance front, the car can touch the 100 kmph mark in 9.1 seconds and has a top speed of 210 kmph.

Both the variants of ES 250 gets the Lexus Safety Syatem+ (LSS+) as a standard feature. It is the same system that recently made its debut in the 2019 NX 300. Part of the LSS+ kit is a Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with Stop and Go function, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), and Pre-Collision System (PCS). Also, part of the safety profile is ten airbags.

The car is available in several exterior color scheme - Deep Blue Mica, Sonic Quartz, Platinum Silver Metallic, Red Mica Crystal Shine, Sonic Titanium, and Graphite Black Glass Flake.
