Malaysia’s best-selling EV, the Proton e.MAS 5, now available in Nepal

KUALA LUMPUR: After entering Singapore earlier this year, Malaysia’s best-selling electric car, the Proton e.MAS 5, has now launched in its second overseas market, Nepal. Jagdamba Motors, the official distributor of Proton e.MAS vehicles in the country, offers the EV in two variants - Prime and Premium.

    Proton e.MAS 5’s price and specifications in Nepal

    As mentioned above, the Proton e.MAS 5 is offered in two variants in Nepal - Prime and Premium, both powered by the same drivetrain configurations as the Malaysia-spec model.

    Two variants - Prime and Premium, priced at Rs. 35 lakhs (approx RM 94k) and Rs. 40 lakhs (approx RM 107k), respectively

    Electric motor and power

    Prime - Single RWD motor generating 79 PS and 130 Nm 

    Premium - Single RWD motor generating 116 PS and 150 Nm

    Battery and range

    Prime - 30.12 kWh CATL LFP battery pack, offering a range of 225 km

    Premium - 40.16 kWh CATL LFP battery pack, offering a range of 325 km
