    The bookings of the Proton e.MAS 5 are now open in Malaysia, following a high-profile livestream on October 4, 2025. Held from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM, the livestream was hosted by Boss James and Norreen Iman. It was tuned by 572,725+ people across the country through Proton e.MAS official social channels and social platforms of lifestyle influencers and tech and motoring experts.

    The event featured interactive segments, live product demonstrations, EV insights from motoring experts and lifestyle influencers and Q&As with PRO-NET representatives, including Mr. Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive Officer of PRO-NET, and Pn. Salawati binti Mohd Yusoff, Chief Brand Officer of PRO-NET.

    Well, the most important highlight of the event was the announcement of the Proton e.MAS 5 estimated price. The EV is priced between RM 60,000 - RM 80,000 (approximately), making it Malaysia’s most affordable EV. 

    At this highly competitive price point, the Proton e.MAS 5 combines affordability with practicality, making electrification accessible without compromise.

    Interested folks can book the Proton e.MAS 5 EV through the brand’s official website - Proton e.MAS website or at any of the 42 Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide.

    With the exclusive early bird package in place, customers can get an RM 500 rebate on the booking fee and need to pay only RM 99.The early bird promo also includes a limited-edition Proton e.MAS Touch ‘n Go NFC Card preloaded with RM 100.

    Proton e.MAS 5 specifications

    As a quick recap, Proton’s second EV is a compact yet powerful vehicle, offered in two variants:  Prime and Premium. Key highlights include -

    • The Proton e.MAS 5 is powered by a rear-wheel drive motor that promises a balanced and engaging riding experience. The lower-spec model delivers a maximum power of 79 PS and a peak torque of 130 Nm, whereas the higher version is good for making 116 PS and 150 Nm.

    • While it is based on a Geely model, the EV has been designed and tuned for Malaysia; it has been structurally reinforced to meet stricter safety targets and adapted for right-hand drive.
    • Two battery pack options are - 30.12 kWh and 40.16 kWh, offering a WLTP-claimed driving range of 250 km and 325 km, respectively. 
    • The EV supports AC charging at 6.6 kW and DC fast charging at up to 71 kW; the latter can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in just 21 minutes.
    • Despite being a compact B-segment hatchback, Proton claims that the e.MAS 5 offers the spaciousness of a C-segment car, ensuring a comfortable ride. 
    • The boot space is measured at 375 litres, expandable up to 1,320 litres with the rear seats folded. It also features the best-in-class 70-litre frunk.

    • The interior features a 14.6-inch high-definition infotainment unit powered by a dual-language Atlas operating system, which supports English as well as Bahasa Malaysia. 
    • It also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (wired/wireless), integrated live charging map and a unified payment system via the e.MAS mobile app.
    • Ensuring a safe and smart driving experience for every journey are six airbags and ADAS safety systems.
