Mugen to display accessory kit for Honda CR-V, N-Van, and Insight at 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon

KUALA LUMPUR: The Tokyo Auto Salon is best known for the tuners and body kit developers to showcase their work. Mugen is one such auto tuner that has been associated with Honda for a fairly long period of time. The company has now lined up a few model accessories that it would be displaying at the upcoming auto show.

One of the models for which the accessories are lined up is the CR-V Mugen Concept, which was also showcased at the recently concluded KLIMS 2018. The car received black skirtings on the two sides and also on the front and rear. The grille up front has a honeycomb mesh design with stripes of chrome running across. The front has a sharper lip spoiler while the rear has a bigger wing above the windscreen.

The other Mugen models that would be up for display are the N-Van and Insight, the former of which is a Kei car. It has a black front spoiler while the grille gets body colored inserts. The entire body is very square-ish and boxy. Moreover, there are a number of decals on the rear window that appears to be inspired from motorsports. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels.

The Insight sedan would be getting a body-colored garnishing for the front profile. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and gets faux carbon guards for the door handles. There is a twin-pipe sports exhaust system too.

Rounding off its product gallery at the Tokyo Auto Salon, Mugen will be introducing a prototype of the RC 20 GT concept based on the Civic Type R. This will be in the pre-production phase and have a polished approach with smoothed edges. These will make it look a lot sportier and attractive over the standard Type R.
