Perodua Myvi launched in Singapore at RM197,093

KUALA LUMPUR: In two trims, namely 1.3X AT and 1.5H AT, Perodua has launched the Myvi hatchback in Singapore. The third-generation Myvi gets a price tag of S$ 64,800 (roughly RM 197,093) and S$ 69,800 (around RM 212,301) for the aforementioned models, respectively. The price also includes Singapore’s Certificate of Entitlement (COE) and GST charges. Perocom Auto, the official distributor of Perodua cars in Singapore held the launch event on Saturday at its Ubi dealership. The distributor has already traded the likes of Kelisa, original Myvi, Kancil, Kembara, Bezza, Viva, and Axia in the past. The launch event also allured around 250 customers.

Perodua president and CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad said, “The current-generation Myvi’s foray into Singapore is significant in terms of brand presence despite the high barriers for entry into this mature market. This also marks the model’s first export destination under the Perodua brand”.

As a matter of fact, Perodua Myvi is also being sold in Indonesia as a Daihatsu Sirion and the automaker has sold around 110,000 Myvi hatchbacks in Malaysia alone since the hatch’s inception in November 2017. Land Transport Authority of Singapore has released a set of data that shows the number of cars registered over there in recent times - 57,589 in 2015, 87,504 in 2016, 91,922 in 2017, and 80,281 units in 2018.

John Ng, the Perocom Auto MD said, “The Perodua Myvi has been very well received by Malaysians, and the enthusiasm has also found its way to Singapore, where there is a niche yet loyal cult following eagerly awaiting the arrival of the third-generation model”.
