Perodua and Maybank Islamic Introduce Malaysia’s first Shariah-Compliant car agility financing plan

KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua has teamed up with Maybank Islamic Berhad to roll out the country’s first Shariah-compliant agility financing scheme – the Perodua Flexiplan, powered by Maybank Islamic myimpact Drive Financing-i.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the Perodua Flexiplan?

The Perodua Flexiplan is Malaysia’s first Shariah-compliant agility car financing plan, offered in collaboration with Maybank Islamic. It provides lower monthly payments for the first five years, a guaranteed buy-back value, and flexible options to trade in, keep, or extend financing for your Perodua vehicle.
  • Which Perodua models are available under the Flexiplan?

The Perodua Flexiplan is available for the Myvi, Axia (excluding the Axia E), Ativa, and Aruz, giving customers a choice of popular models with flexible ownership options.
  • The plan is designed to make car ownership more flexible and affordable, giving buyers lower monthly payments for the first five years, guaranteed buy-back value, and the option to either trade up or keep their car with a revised payment plan.

    How the Perodua Flexiplan works

Customers can choose from four models under this scheme – the Myvi, Axia (excluding the Axia E), Ativa, and Aruz. Financing is based on a Murabahah Vehicle Term Financing structure, which helps reduce the monthly instalments during the initial five-year term.

At the end of those five years, buyers have three choices:

    1. Trade in for a new Perodua – The brand will buy back the vehicle at a competitive value, which can be used to offset the down payment for the next car, restarting the five-year cycle.

    2. Keep the current car – Settle the outstanding balance in one go.

    3. Extend the financing – Continue paying for up to another four years under a revised plan.

The flexibility is meant to accommodate life changes, whether upgrading to a bigger vehicle for a growing family or simply wanting the latest model.

    A first for both brands

Perodua President and CEO Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the move marked a new chapter for the national carmaker.

“Today, both Perodua and Maybank Islamic broke new ground as we join forces to offer the best possible financing package which ensures everybody wins; Perodua, Maybank Islamic and, especially our valued customers. We believe that with the backing of Malaysia’s biggest bank combined with the trust that we have earned from Malaysians; the Perodua Flexiplan will be well accepted,” he said.

Maybank Group CEO for Community and Financial Services, Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar, described the plan as part of the bank’s values-based approach to banking.

“We have always been committed to empowering our customers with flexible, transparent, inclusive, and sustainable financial solutions, and Maybank Islamic myimpact Drive Financing-i is a reflection of that. We are proud and excited to provide this innovative approach to all Malaysians alongside Perodua – one that addresses the preferences of modern car buyers and empowers our customers with flexible ownership choices.”

    Shariah-compliant support ecosystem

The financing plan also complements other Shariah-compliant offerings for Perodua customers, including Perodua Total Protect Plus comprehensive takaful (underwritten by Etiqa) with an additional RM5,000 special peril coverage, and Credit Reducing Term Takaful for added financial protection.

By combining flexible financing, guaranteed residual value, and Islamic-compliant protection packages, Perodua and Maybank Islamic are positioning the Flexiplan as a benchmark for accessible, sustainable, and customer-friendly vehicle ownership in Malaysia.

More information is available from authorised Perodua sales advisors or any Maybank branch nationwide.
