Proton e.MAS YTD sales reach 27,855 units

With the remarkable performance in August, the brand’s year-to-date sales reached 27,855 units, including 27,402 domestic and 453 overseas registrations. Domestically, Selangor accounted for 51 per cent of total domestic sales, followed by Johor and Penang. Together, these three states contributed 71 per cent of Proton e.MAS’ domestic sales in August. “As we celebrate the spirit of Merdeka and look ahead to Malaysia Day, we are reminded of how far Malaysia has come through the courage to embrace change and move forward together. We are proud that more Malaysians are choosing to be part of this journey towards an electrified future, and we are deeply grateful for the confidence they have placed in Proton e.MAS,” Mr Zhang added.

Expanding support network and developing Malaysia’s EV expertise

The growing sales momentum is backed by the company’s expanding ecosystem. Proton e.MAS has a total of 60 dealerships, 46 service centres and 10 body & paint Centres across the country, up from 36 dealerships and 29 service centres a year ago.

It has a network of 103 DC Fast Chargers available at selected dealerships nationwide, while the Integrated Live Charging Map, available in all e.MAS vehicles and through the e.MAS app, offers access to more than 4,700 charging points nationwide, including more than 1,500 charging points across over 600 high-rise residences.

In terms of developing Malaysia’s EV expertise, the brand has collaborated with TVETMARA to launch the inaugural Aftersales Skills Competition, offering Malaysian technical personnel a platform to demonstrate and sharpen their capabilities in EV aftersales. This partnership aims to develop local talent, improve technical competency, and support the long-term growth of the xEV sector.
