Revealed: Interior of Mitsubishi Triton 2019 Adventure trim
KUALA LUMPUR: Interest in the refreshed Mitsubishi Triton has been on the rise since the light commercial vehicle (LCV) was first unveiled at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) earlier this year. The media was finally allowed to have a look at the car’s Malaysian-spec interior, which is currently being displayed at the My Town Shopping Centre. The light pickup truck from the Japanese automobile major is expected to hit the market in the first quarter of next year.
The Mitsubishi Triton on display sports the Adventure trim, as revealed by the badge on the vehicle. It’s similar to the one shown at the KLIMS. The vehicle has slim projector headlamps and 250/60 profile tyres fitted to twin-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels. That aside, the car has chrome door handles and side mirror caps, reverse camera, LED taillights, and side steps. The LCV facilitates keyless entry and has rear and front parking sensors.
Mitsubishi had claimed that the interior of the Triton 2019 Adventure trim will be stacked with some pretty impressive features. An inspection of the vehicle revealed a multifunction four-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, rear ceiling vents, coloured multi-info instrument display, leather upholstery, a touchscreen infotainment system, powered driver’s seat, keyless engine start, and a super-select four-wheel drive dial. The interior also has rear and front USB charging ports.
From what was disclosed before the media, the Mitsubishi Triton 2019 Malaysian edition is packed with several safety features. These include Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision Mitigation, and Lane Change Assist which is accompanied by a rear cross traffic alert and ultrasonic mis-acceleration mitigation system. The Adventure trim of the 2019 Mitsubishi Triton retains a number of safety features from its earlier version. These include brake assist and electronic brake-force distribution, hill-start assist, trailer stability assist, hill descent control, and active stability with traction control. The vehicle has seven airbags as part of an enhanced anti-collision system.
Mitsubishi had earlier disclosed that the 2019 Trition will be powered by a 2.4-litre 4N15 turbo-diesel motor. The engine will be paired to an automatic six-speed gear system which replaces the earlier five-speed unit.
