Revised Toyota Alphard and Vellfire revealed, bookings now open

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2020 models of the Alphard and Vellfire by Toyota Malaysia have been revealed. Both models do not get any cosmetic changes but additional features and kit. The company has started to accept bookings for the fully-imported CBU models.

The models get benefitted from the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), which comes with driver-assist systems like Lane Departure Alert, Pre-collision System, Lane Tracing Assist, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Aside from this, there is a parking support brake system, tyre pressure monitoring system, and vehicle telematics system.

The parking support brake system plays a vital role during parking. It can detect a nearby object, apply brakes automatically, and cut engine power to avoid a collision. The vehicle telematics system makes use of GPS to continuously track the location of the vehicle. It can also record the vehicle’s speed and other operating conditions during the drive, the recorded data can thus be sent to the designated user via email.

On the entertainment front, the models get a new 9-inch AVX infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The cabin also gets a front and rear digital video recorder.

There is no change under the hood and the Alphard continues to get power from the 3.5-litre V6 engine that churns out 300 PS of power and 361 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed auto transmission. The Vellfire, on the other hand, is powered by the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder Dual VVT-i engine that pumps out 180 PS and 235 Nm, coupled with a CVT.

Both the models are available in five exterior shades, including White Pearl CS, Black, Graphite Metallic, Burning Black CS GF and Luxury White Pearl Crystal Shine Glass Flake.

As for the pricing, the 2020 Alphard is expected to be priced at RM 465,000, while the 2020 Vellfire at RM 383,000. The 3.5 Executive Lounge model is all set to go on sale again after being dropped earlier from the current line-up. Its estimated pricing is, however, unknown at the moment.
