2026 Toyota Vellfire HEV arrives in Malaysia, here’s all you need to know

KUALA LUMPUR: After closing 2025 on a strong note, UMW Toyota is set to shake up the Malaysian automotive scene in 2026. Just after releasing the Vios HEV details, Malaysia’s number one non-national automotive brand has introduced the all-new 2026 Toyota Vellfire HEV.

The new Toyota Vellfire HEV redefines electrified luxury for a generation that values both performance and purpose. It embodies the automaker’s multi-pathway approach towards carbon neutrality and provides a powerful yet efficient driving experience.

Toyota Vellfire HEV price

The Toyota Vellfire HEV is available in a single Executive Lounge, priced at RM 549,900 (on the road and without insurance) in Malaysia. Included in the price is a standard 5-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and 10-year guaranteed parts availability.

Built on the TNGA GA-K platform, the new Vellfire has a modern and luxury-oriented styling with a bold and aggressive front fascia. It boasts a large layered grille and a sculpted bumper, giving the vehicle a commanding road presence. 

The MPV comes equipped with tri-LED headlights with cornering lamps, daytime running lights, sequential front and rear turn signals, vertical corner air inlets, sliding doors, 19-inch ten-spoke wheels and full-width LED tail lights. Available colour options are - Platinum White Pearl, Precious Metal, and Black.

The Vellfire HEV has been thoughtfully designed with the Japanese philosophy of omotenashi (hospitality) as one of the core principles. It features a 2+2+3 seating layout with Executive Lounge VIP Seats in the second row, offering full power adjustments, ventilation, ottoman and massage functions, all controlled via a multi-operation panel. 

Enhancing the sense of relaxation, comfort and indulgence are Nappa leather upholstery, soft-touch surfaces, ambient ceiling illumination (with 64 selectable colours) and refined details like anti-vibration seat structures, a rotary table, and enlarged armrests with integrated vanity mirrors.

Toyota Vellfire HEV engine and performance 

This luxury people hauler mover comes powered by Toyota’s proven hybrid drivetrain that promises smooth performance with improved efficiency and lower emissions, thus reinforcing the brand’s dedication to cleaner, more efficient mobility.

The 2.5-litre Dynamic Force Hybrid System combines a 4-cylinder A25A-FXS petrol engine (producing 187 PS and 233 Nm) with an 182 PS/270 Nm electric motor, delivering a combined output of 250 PS. This shows a 37% increase over the standard 2.5-litre model. 

The system is paired with an E-CVT gearbox and offers fuel efficiency of 5.7 litres per 100 km, with CO₂ emissions reduced to 129 grams per km. The self-charging hybrid system automatically recharges during driving and braking, delivering continuous power without the need for external charging. Alongside Eco and Normal, an EV mode is provided for near-silent, zero-emission operation for short distances.

The electrified MPV comes equipped with six airbags, a Panoramic view monitor, parking sensors and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 pack. The latter comprises the following advanced driver assistance systems -
