Mercedes-Benz A-Class launch delayed to arrive in late 2018

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch its new A-Class model, the W177. The car was earlier scheduled to be launched around this time but now has been delayed till the end of 2018. It is being said that due to some production issues, the car’s market released had to be postponed.

The new A-Class will be equipped with Mercedes’s new infotainment system called MBUX – Mercedes-Benz User Experience. The MBUX is said to have user experience at the heart of its design. It offers a number of features that were previously present in luxury cars only. “New technologies must place the focus on people and make their lives easier. The new A-Class does this in many ways, and becomes an emotional and intelligent companion,” says Ola Källenius, the member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars. “One good example is MBUX – Mercedes-Benz User Experience: it combines intuitive and natural operation with intelligent, learning software.”

A slow down can be seen in the Malaysian market by Mercedes-Benz as the company is due to introduce various other new models and variants in the company as well. W222 S-Class facelight is one such model. The car was supposed to be launched in June but now has been confirmed to be introduced in the early Q3.

The W205 C-Class facelift is another car that is yet to be released this year. The new C-Class is expected to make its appearance in Q4. Experts are speculating that this car will arrive in its Benz-badged civilian form list first and later on, followed by the AMG C 43.
Another model that is inbound is G-Class. But, there is no confirmation yet from the company regarding whether the niche Gelandewagen will make it this year or have its local debut in 2019.

Various new models and variants of Mercedes-Benz are about to launch in the Malaysian market by the end of this year. The line-up includes the much-awaited W177 A-Class hatchback among other Mercedes-Benz cars.
