Toyota Veloz Hybrid makes world premiere at Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week

KUALA LUMPUR: The Toyota Veloz Hybrid has recently made its global debut at the ongoing Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week 2025 in Indonesia. This electrified multi-purpose vehicle is the third Toyota hybrid model to be produced in Indonesia, after the Innova Zenix and Yaris Cross.

Toyota Veloz Hybrid price

Bookings for the Toyota Veloz Hybrid are now underway in the country. It is offered in four variants - V, Q, Q Modellista and Q TSS Modellista, priced as follows - 

• V - IDR 299 million (approx. RM 74k)
• Q - IDR 335 million (approx. RM 83k)
• Q Modellista - 350 million (approx. RM 87k)
• Q TSS Modellista - IDR 390 million (approx. RM 97k)

Notably, the mentioned prices are promotional prices, which are valid until the end of December 2025.

Toyota Veloz Hybrid specs

As for the Veloz Hybrid’s specification, Toyota has remained tight-lipped so far. However, the reports suggest that it may borrow the drivetrain from the Vios and Yaris Cross hybrids, featuring a 1.5 litre 2NR-VEX four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor, an E-CVT gearbox and a 0.7-kWh battery. The said engine delivers 91 PS of maximum power and 121 Nm of peak torque, while the e-motor is good for making 80 PS and 141 Nm. The combined system output is rated at 111 PS.

Toyota Veloz in Malaysia

UMW Toyota offers the Veloz in a single 1.5 A/T variant in Malaysia, priced at RM 95,000 (on the road, without insurance). It is powered by a 1.5-litre Dual-VVTi NA four-cylinder engine generating a maximum power of 106 PS and a peak torque of 138 Nm. Sending power to the front wheels is a 7-speed CVT gearbox.
