Toyota Veloz X-Urban pack launched in Thailand

KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota has introduced an all-new X-Urban accessory package for the Veloz MPV in Thailand. The package includes body kits and accessories making the vehicle look aggressive and rugged. It is exclusively available for the Veloz Premium variant in the Thai market at an additional price of 39,900 baht (approximately RM 5,297).

The key highlights of the new Toyota Veloz X-Urban pack are - 

• A beefier front fascia with a more prominent black cladding positioned near the fog lights and the bumper
• A skid plate on the bottom of the front and rear bumpers
• Muscular fender flares with more noticeable black cladding
• Black cladding on door panels
• X-Urban badging on the tailgate
• Two-tone 17-inch rims with a different spoke design than the regular Veloz 17-inch rims
• 'X' logo on the centre cap of the wheels
• Higher ground clearance than the regular Veloz

Under the bonnet, things remain unchanged with a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i tech engine that kicks out a maximum power of 105 hp and a peak torque of 138 Nm. The power is sent to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox.

The story of the cabin also remains the same as the regular model, which features a black and light grey combination with soft-touch materials. The equipment kit comprises a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, single-zone automatic air-conditioning control, 7.0-inch instrument cluster, three drive modes (Power, Eco, and Normal), wireless phone charger, electric parking brake, semi-leather upholstery, and ambient lighting.

Parts of the advanced driver-assistance kit are - Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, and more.

Toyota Veloz in Malaysia 

UMW Toyota offers the MPV in a single variant in Malaysia, priced at RM 95,000 (on-the-road, without insurance). The automaker recently introduced a new accessory kit for the Malaysian-spec model, which comprises - a front bumper spoiler, rear bumper spoiler, side door claddings, and a roof spoiler. The optional accessory kit is priced at RM 3,300.
