Upcoming 2021 BMW X3 facelift leaked
KUALA LUMPUR: Since last year we have been seeing glimpses of the mid-life cycle update or Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) for the BMW X3. But this time we have a clearer, camouflage-free, official image in hand. How? Well, BMW Spain recently uploaded an image on its website, and it's none other than the X3 facelift.
So, what does the image reveal?
The BMW X3 LCI reveals design changes, a new set of wheels, and a vibrant exterior hue. While only the side fascia of the car is visible in the image we are expecting to see a revised set of LED headlights and tail lights with new graphics. Though in the spy shots, the kidney grille with vertical slats is expected to be connected like seen in the iX3, though we aren’t sure if that will be the case with the production model.
On the side, the SUV gets prominent wheel arches housing new wheels, body-colouder door handles, turn signal integrated ORVMs, roof rails, fender vents, and strong character lines. Speaking of wheels, they feature a two-tone colour and a sporty design that goes with the car’s character and M Sport package.
We expect substantial changes at the back as well, but unfortunately, we don’t have an image to support it.
Cabin images are not yet revealed, but reports suggest that it will benefit from a larger infotainment unit that might even come equipped with the new iDrive with BMW Operating System 8. We however doubt it, as BMW earlier announced that the iDrive8 will be introduced in the i4 and iX later this year. If that’s the case, the BMW X3 LCI will most likely feature the tried and tested iDrive7.
This leak might not alter the car’s debut plans, however, we expect more information to roll out in the coming weeks.
