2019 Malaysia Autoshow: New Proton Iriz open for booking at RM 9.99

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton has made the Iriz available for bookings following its debut at the Malaysia Autoshow 2019. The bookings can be done from the Proton’s stall at the ongoing auto show or online via the company’s website.

Prior to this, the Malaysian automaker opened the car's flash bookings a few weeks ago. The previous window was started on 1st March and continued for 11 days. Now the company has opened a new window to accept pre-bookings for the 2019 Proton Iriz against a sum of RM 9.99. Alongside accepting the preorders, the promo posted on the company’s website also adds ‘Free 2 years road tax’, which obviously comes with its own set of terms and conditions.

The first national badge car manufacturer of Malaysia is likely to use the ongoing show for showcasing more models apart from Iriz. New Proton Persona has already arrived with the advent of the show, and it is expected that the event may also witness the debut of X50.

Restricting our discussion to the car in interest, Iriz garners a plethora of upgrades. The front is highlighted with a compact grille that contains a long line of chrome that continues till the corner of headlights. Above it, the bonnet receives a number of strikes that gives the anterior a sporty finish. A couple of characteristic lines are also visible on the side profiles that run up to the rear end.

The car is likely to arrive in five variants depending upon engine displacement and transmission. There will be two 1.3L Standard variants with CVT and MT, respectively. This is followed by Executive 1.3L CVT, Executive 1.6L CVT and at last a Premium 1.6L CVT variant. Check out new Proton Iriz at the Malaysia Autoshow 2019.
