2022 BMW X3 facelift leaked again; debut next month

KUALA LUMPUR: The ongoing BMW X3 has been on sale in the global market since 2017 and continues to be one of the top-selling SUVs. It is about to get a mid-life cycle update or Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) next month. Well, we do not need to wait that long as the leaked images of the updated X3 LCI are now making the rounds on the internet. The leaked photos hail from China and were published on a Spanish website Cochespias. 

This is the second time when we are seeing the model undisguised. A few days back, BMW Spain uploaded an image on its website, and it was none other than the X3 facelift.

Coming back to the recent leak, this time we can clearly see the front and rear fascias of the SUV in the high-quality images, which we were not able to see earlier. On the front end, the new X3 features a new grille that seems to be inheriting the M2 Competition approach in place of a conservative kidney pattern, however, it retains the overall size.

Another upgrade you can notice on the X3 facelift is restyled headlights. They now have new interior graphics along with newly designed daytime running lights. Also new is the front bumper that looks bolder now. At the rear, the BMW designers gave the SUV a new pair of tail lights featuring a 3D shape with a new light running inside. The tail pipes also get a different shape.

Just like the previous leak, this time also we did not get any glimpse of the new X3 cabin. However, we do have expectations and speculations in hand, according to which, the redesigned SUV could have a larger infotainment unit equipped with the brand’s new iDrive and BMW Operating System 8. Other than this, a boatload of hi-tech creature comforts is likely to be seen on the new X3.

Well, for the actual specifications and details, we have to wait for the official reveal that is most likely to happen next month. The debut of the new X3 could be followed by the top-spec X3 M unveiling by the end of this year or early 2022.
