2022 Porsche 718 and Cayman available for order in the US; pricing released

KUALA LUMPUR: The Boxster convertible and Cayman coupe are part of Porsche’s 718 lineup, which for the model year 2022 have received a slight price hike. Currently open for booking in the US market with deliveries starting in a few months. As for their increased price tags, they read $63,950 (around 263,825) for the Boxster and $61,850 (around RM 255,162) for the Cayman.

The prices mentioned above are for the car’s entry-level models, both of which are powered by a 2.0-litre flat-four turbocharged engine making a maximum power of 300 hp. The power is sent to the wheels via a standard 6-speed manual transmission; customers can also opt for the automaker's PDK dual-clutch automatic unit.

As for the S models, the Cayman S is priced at $73,850 and the Boxster S retails for $75,950. They are powered by a 2.5-litre flat-four turbo mill pumping a maximum power of 350 hp.

The Porsche Cayman and Boxster T models retail for $70,950 and $73,050, respectively. It sources its power from a 2.0-litre unit and gets a sport suspension as well.

The GST model is not spared from the price hike as well. Last year the automaker replaced the 718 GTS with GTS 4.0 model which is now $600 more expensive. The Cayman GTS 4.0 is offered at a starting price of $88,750 and the Boxster GTS 4.0 for $90,850. Under the hood, is present a 4.0-litre flat-six engine making 394 hp of power.

The list doesn’t end here, as Porsche is also offering the last year introduced Boxster 25th Anniversary model. It now costs $102,450 and is powered by a 394 hp 4.0-litre unit.

The track-focused Cayman GT4 and 718 Spyder are also part of the price hike club. Both are powered by a 4.0-litre flat-six engine making 414 hp of maximum power.

The 2022 Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman are offered in two new and amazing finishes - Frozenberry Metallic and Shark Blue. Also on offer are personalized floor mats, painted keys and the owner’s manual in a leather pouch.
