7,157 new Proton S70 bookings since launch - 1 every 4 minutes

KUALA LUMPUR: First introduced in November 2023, the Proton S70 quickly grabbed everyone’s attention with its strong value-for-money proposition and became Malaysians’ first choice in the C-segment sedan category. To make it even more appealing, the automaker provided the S70 with a minor upgrade last month, introducing a new, powerful engine, subtle cosmetic tweaks, and enhanced connectivity.

The upgraded Proton sedan received an encouraging response from customers, securing over 7,157 bookings since order books opened on 11 February. 

With a significant contribution in reshaping the competitive sedan market in Malaysia, the Proton S70 has steadily built momentum. Since its introduction, the automaker has delivered its 40,112 units, marking a significant milestone in revitalising interest in the segment.

2026 Proton S70: What’s new?

• The upgraded Proton S70 is offered in four variants - Executive, Premium, Flagship and Flagship X, with prices ranging from RM 73,800 to RM 94,800. 
• Powering the latest version is a 1.5L i-GT Turbo 4-cylinder engine, which produces a maximum power of 181 PS and a peak torque of 290 Nm, representing a considerable jump of 31 PS and 64 Nm over the previous setup. 

• Also new for 2026 are refreshed 17-inch two-tone wheels with sharper, blade-like spokes and a new Proton-designed black bodykit featuring aggressive intake framing, a diffuser-style rear skirt, and a boot-lip spoiler with a centre cut-out.
• The interior boasts a modern black theme and benefits from enhanced connectivity options with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity now available on Flagship and Flagship X trims.
• The 2026 Proton S70 comes in five shades - Ruby Red, Quartz Black, Snow White, Space Grey, Marine Blue, and Armour Silver.
