BMW M2 CS launched in Malaysia, priced from RM 950,800: the lightest and most powerful M2 yet
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Group Malaysia has launched the new BMW M2 CS, unveiled at the BMW Clubhouse event at Factory 19 PJ. It arrives as the lightest and most powerful BMW M2 built to date, a limited-production model developed on the racetrack, priced from RM 950,800 (RM 993,100 with BMW Service & Repair Inclusive programme).
530 hp, rear-wheel drive only
Under the bonnet is the S58 M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder, closely related to the P58 GT3 race engine, producing 390 kW (530 hp) at 6,250 rpm and 650 Nm of torque from 2,750 to 5,730 rpm. Drive goes to the rear wheels only, through an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.
The 0-100 km/h sprint takes 3.8 seconds. With the M Driver's Package included as standard, top speed is rated at 302 km/h once the 2,000 km running-in period and check are completed. Each M2 CS also comes with a voucher for the M Intensive Training programme by BMW Driving Experience as standard. Fuel consumption is rated at 10.0 l/100 km (WLTP).
Carbon construction cuts around 30 kg
The M Carbon tailgate, developed exclusively for this model, features an integrated ducktail spoiler lip for additional downforce. Together with the M Carbon roof and M Carbon rear diffuser, it contributes to a weight reduction of approximately 30 kg over the standard M2, bringing kerb weight to 1,775 kg.
The exterior also gets a model-specific kidney grille with wider intakes and M2 CS lettering, a matt black front splitter, red-outlined M2 CS emblems, and staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M light alloy wheels in Gold Bronze, fitted with track tyres from the factory.
The chassis package centres on Adaptive M Suspension lowered by 8 mm with CS-specific spring and damper tuning, an M Sport differential, and M Compound brakes with red callipers. M Drive Professional is standard, bringing ten-level M Traction Control, M Mode TRACK, and the M Drift Analyser.
Interior: carbon buckets and Alcantara
M carbon bucket seats in Merino leather are standard, with illuminated CS lettering, multi-point harness compatibility, and a removable headrest cushion that accommodates a helmet. The M Alcantara steering wheel has carbon spokes and paddles plus a red 12 o'clock marker, and the carbon centre console carries a red CS logo. Door trims feature illuminated CS lettering with a choice of colours.
Standard equipment also includes electric seats with memory, automatic air conditioning, wireless charging, BMW Digital Key, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, and a 464-watt, 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Colours, warranty and availability in Malaysia
The M2 CS is offered in Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, and Velvet Blue, with the interior exclusively in Merino Black with M Highlights. Warranty coverage follows BMW Malaysia's standard package: a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty and 5 years or 100,000 km of service coverage through the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive programme. BMW Malaysia has not confirmed how many units are allocated for the local market.
In this price bracket, its closest rivals on sale in Malaysia are the Porsche 718 Cayman and Mercedes-AMG's compact performance models, though none of them pairs a GT3-derived straight six with rear-wheel drive in this format.
Before reaching Malaysia, the M2 CS won the 2025 AUTO BILD Sportscars of the Year award in the Compact Sports Cars over EUR50,000 category.
"The New BMW M2 CS is a rare thing --- a limited-production special model born from racetrack development, offered to those who seek the most unfiltered and focused expression of BMW M engineering available in a road car today," said Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, at the unveiling.
The BMW M2 CS is on public display at the BMW Clubhouse, Factory 19 PJ, from 17 to 19 July 2026, alongside the rest of BMW Malaysia's 2026 line-up.
