Land Rover Ranger Rover Velar 3.0L R-Dynamic variant launched

KUALA LUMPUR: Some go by the looks, others by power. Some enjoy the old-school feel, others crave the trendy meal! But then, there are some who like the blend of both the worlds. And providing with that mixture is the all-new Land Rover Range Rover Velar 3.0L R-Dynamic. The newest SUV from the house of luxury is neither too big nor too small. It sits right in the middle, just where the sweet spot is. The R-Dynamic variant comes with ample power to play and is not short on any of the modern feature and that, old-school delicacy.

Providing with ample brightness in the dark are the Matrix LED headlights in the Velar. The Velar R-Dynamic doesn’t drive on the road, instead, it glides. All thanks to the feather-light aluminium frame equipped with double-wishbone at the front and integral-link rear suspension. Produced at the Solihull production facility, the Velar’s birth or shall we say the designing took place in the UK.

In terms of the interior, the Velar R-Dynamic boasts comfort and luxury all around. The seats are wrapped in perforated leather along with Kvadrat’s luxurious fabric. The infotainment system in the SUV is the Touch Pro Duo starring two 10-inch high-definition touchscreens. Bringing the modern designing inside the Velar are the meagre air-vents. However, the centre of attraction here is the horizontal beam.

Under the hood of the Range Rover Velar is a P380 supercharged V6 petrol motor. The engine is competent of producing 380 PS of max power and 450 Nm of peak torque. A 0-100 kmph run takes only 5.7 seconds. And if you’ve got a road long enough, the P380 can take the Velar up to a top speed of 250 kmph. Enhancing the ride experience further are an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 4-corner air-suspension.

On the safety front, the Velar 3.0L R-Dynamic features 6 airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go and Emergency Braking system and all the other necessities to keep the driver and the passengers safe inside.
