Next-gen Nissan Leaf revealed in full, check key highlights 

KUALA LUMPUR: After years of development and several teasers, the all-new third-gen Nissan Leaf has finally been revealed in its full form. Redesigned from the ground up, the new Leaf is a family-friendly EV crossover that promises a responsive and smooth performance with increased maximum range, enhanced charging speed and a technology suite.

    2025 Nissan Leaf: Key highlights

    Sleek new design

    The new Leaf features a crossover-like design with improved aerodynamics inspired by the Chill-Out concept previewed in 2021. The car features a distinctive “ni-san” geometric symbol, combining two vertical rectangles with three horizontal ones. Pronounced as “ni-san”, it appears in the headlights, taillights, wheels, as well as interior trim.

    Other key design highlights include - 

    • Refreshed V-motion front fascia with a bold black grille incorporating an illuminated Nissan logo and unique rectangular lighting elements, and full-width LED running lamp 
    • Significantly reduced drag coefficient (from 0.29 to 0.26)
    • Motorised flush door handles (for the first time in a Nissan car) 
    • 3D holographic tail lamps delivering a futuristic “digital Zen” element
    • A flowing roofline with a katana blade-like trim, inspired by the Nissan Z sports car
    • Aerodynamic Rear with a liftgate spoiler mounted at a 45-degree angle
    • 18-or 19-inch inch alloy wheels

    Spacious and connected interior

    The interior is spacious with an almost entirely flat floor thanks to Nissan’s CMF-EV platform. It features a wide, floating-style dashboard, redesigned seats offering enhanced second-row knee room and a slimmer center console with shift controls now located on the dashboard.     • 12.3-inch or 14.3-inch displays for instrumentation and infotainment with built-in Google services such as Maps, Assistant and Play Store
    • Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto 
    • Wireless phone charger
    • NissanConnect Services app support for monitoring battery status, charging, cabin temperature and more
    • Bose speakers premium sound system with headrest speakers
    • 64-colour ambient lighting
    • 1,571 litres of cargo capacity with flexible storage using the Divide-N-Hide system
    • 3.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load functionality
    • Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) support for home energy savings
    • Nissan’s first dimming panoramic roof

    Improved driving range

    The third-gen Leaf features an all-new, 3-in-1 EV powertrain with an integrated motor, inverter and reducer (10% smaller than its predecessor). As for output, the base-spec variant generates a maximum power of 177 PS and a peak torque of 345 Nm, while the higher model pushes out 218 PS and 355 Nm. This represents a significant increase of 68 PS and 35 Nm over its predecessor.

    The EV comes in two liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery options, both offering thermal conditioning functionality. The 52 kWh battery offers a WLTP-claimed range of 436 km (previous e+ model had 385 km), whereas the bigger 75 kWh pack can let the vehicle cruise up to 604 km. When connected to a fast charger, it can juice up from 10 to 80% in 35 minutes only.

    Along with a new multi-link rear suspension, the EV features e-Pedal Step System, which now comes with an adaptive regenerative braking system.

    The new Nissan Leaf comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced and innovative driver assist technologies to make daily driving easier and more intuitive. It includes -
