Nissan Almera - Top reasons to buy
Whilst the fourth-gen Nissan Almera is already available in Thailand, it is still awaited in Malaysia. The Thailand-spec Nissan Almera price starts from RM 499,000 baht (RM 68,603), and it was recently exhibited at Nissan's stall at the 2019 Thai Motor Show. As for changes, the all-new Nissan Almera looks bolder and receives a whole lot of new goodies on the inside. Under the hood, it houses a new three-cylinder, DOHC unit with power channelized to the front wheels through a CVT gearbox. As for the older Almera available in the Malaysian market, it comes with a single DOHC unit and a standard automatic gearbox.
In its segment, it goes up squarely against Proton Persona and other popular models in its space including Honda City and Toyota Vios. While the 2020 Nissan Almera is yet to grace the Malaysian market, the current version continues to chip in good numbers. Here we have listed some of the top features on the Almera and reasons to buy it, read on to know more.

Boastful dimensions
The large proportions provide this B-segment sedan an authoritative semblance and a commanding road presence. Speaking of dimensions, it measures 4,425 mm in length, 1,695 mm wide, and 1,500 mm high. The cabin is stretched across a long wheelbase of 2,600 mm, and it sits 160 mm above from the ground.
Sporty dual-tone exterior paint
Unlike the base and mid-spec trims which are available in monotone shades, the range-topping grade can be availed with a dual-tone paint job. This adds a tinge of sporty flair to the B-segment sedan, which otherwise appears a tad mundane courtesy some of the dated styling bits.
Chrome grille
At the face of the current-gen Almera is a chrome grille. It incorporates a dash of aggression to the front end which also features swooping headlamps and integrated daytime running lamps with LED units. While flanks come equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels with slightly thicker rubber section. At the back, the altered tail section is highlighted by wrap-around tail-lamps and a sporty bumper.
Automatic climate control
Automatic climate control is a must in modern vehicles that allows adjusting the temperature inside with the push of a button. This system enables the air conditioner to automatically change the temperature inside as fed by the user. Most of the B segment vehicles get this feature and Almera is also one of those models to benefit from it.
Feature-packed cabin
Since the occupants spend time snuggling up inside the cabin, it is imperative to make it a cozy space, packed with most of the modern amenities. An audio system tops the list when it comes to interior equipment. The Almera offers a four-speaker music system supported by AUX and USB points. As mentioned above, it gets an automatic air-conditioner that cools the cabin real quick. Besides, keyless entry and steering mounted controls are some of the other features that are reserved only for the top-spec grade.
Spacious interior
Built on a 2,600 mm long wheelbase, Almera has a spacious cabin with oodles of room for occupants seated at the front as well as rear. It provides ample headroom, knee space and shoulder room at both ends, making it one of the most spacious sedans in the B-segment.
Large cargo volume
While the five-seater has generous space for accommodating five full-size adults, there is no dearth of space for storage. It has a large cargo space with a capacity of 490-litre, good enough to store three airport suitcases. Aside from a spacious boot, Almera has several utility points inside which make it a practical cabin.
Safety shield
Safety has emerged as the most important aspect customers look for while purchasing a new car. And why not, as safety cannot and shouldn’t be compromised at any cost. As for the current Nissan Almera, the dual-front airbags are available from VL onwards, while anti-lock-braking system along with electronic brakeforce distribution and child ISOFIX points are standard across line-up.
