Tokyo Auto Salon KL 2023: Nissan Almera, X-Trail, Serena special edition debuts

KUALA LUMPUR: At the recently concluded Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2023, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), the official distributor of Nissan cars in Malaysia showcased four special edition models, called the ‘Tokyo Auto Salon’ (TAS) editions. The cars in question are Almera, Serena, Leaf, and X-Trail, all of which are one-off units available for sale.

The TAS edition mainly consists of cosmetic upgrades, executed in a tasteful manner. Let us discuss each Nissan TAS edition model separately. Starting with the Nissan Almera TAS Edition.

 

 

The Almera TAS Edition features a dual-tone storm grey finish along with a black roof combo. While the front bumper gets a sporty lip, the grille is finished in a gloss black tone. Other inclusions are -

• 17-inch Nismo wheels with 215/45 profile tyres
• Tomei aerokit
• Black GT wing
• A TAS Edition sticker on the tailgate
• Tango door handle protectors
• Black Nappa leather interior
• Black leatherette dashboard with red stitchings

The Serena TAS Edition looked stunning in dual-tone black paint with a silver roof. Further, the one-off model was dressed in J-Impul aero kit and featured several cosmetic upgrades like -

• 18-inch Impul wheels with 225/40 profile tyres
• TAS Edition stickers
• Dual-tone Impul burgundy and black Nappa leather interior
• Door handle protectors

 

The X-Trail TAS Edition made the car look fresh as ever. However, unlike the Serena and Almera TAS Edition models which are based on their respective range-topping variants, this one is based on the mid-range 2.0L Mid trim. Its key inclusions are -

• Dual-tone diamond black paint with a silver roof
• Black Tomei aero kit
• Black front grille
• Silver roof spoiler
• 18-inch Nismo LMX6 wheels with 235/55 tyres
• Tango door handle protectors
• TAS Edition stickers all around
• Interior with maroon finishings (maroon Nappa leather, leatherette dashboard and kneepads)

The last one on the list is the Nissan Leaf EV TAS Edition. Like the above models, this one too carries several design-enhancing bits like -

• Dual-tone stealth grey paint and black roof combo
• Exclusive black and red body stickers
• TAS Edition stickers all around
