Perodua adds manual bookings for QV-E, expands reach from 9 to 34 outlets

KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua has expanded the number of outlets able to collect bookings for its QV-E EV to 34 selected locations across Peninsular Malaysia, up from the original nine, as it looks to make the early booking and test drive process easier for interested customers.

“We have received healthy interest from potential customers from across the country, and we are now expanding our reach to include more locations so that our customers can book test drives and reserve their very own Perodua QV-E,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said.

The company is also widening the way bookings can be made. Instead of limiting booking to its P Circle super-app, Perodua says it will accept manual bookings at the selected outlets after receiving feedback from customers who wanted the usual in-person option.

“Originally, we requested our customers to make their booking through our super-app, P Circle, but some of our customers asked to include the normal option of booking collection,” Dato’ Sri Zainal said.

Alongside the outlet expansion, Perodua said it will simplify the terms and conditions for its battery leasing programme using an infographic-style explanation. The battery leasing programme, referred to as BAAS, is positioned as a separate service intended to “protect the customer and the environment.”

Perodua says the BAAS subscription is set at RM275 per month, an all-in “final” monthly price, for 108 months (nine years). The company adds that the RM275 figure is capped to shield customers from future price increases. Under the package, Perodua says battery maintenance is covered, and it will continue to support the battery beyond the nine-year period.

Perodua also says it will assist with BAAS transfers if the vehicle is sold, with its Pre-Owned Vehicle Department handling the subscription change from the original owner to the next owner. The remaining payment balance is transferable too, so if an owner has already paid part of the 108 months, the next owner continues with what is left.
