Perodua Alza facelift: What is new?

Perodua Alza facelift: What is new?
Contents

Perodua Alza is a popular 7-seater MPV that was launched in Malaysia in 2009. To keep up with the growing demands and needs of the people, the Alza got its first facelift in 2014. Now, after 9 years of its launch, Perodua has given the Alza another facelift. This new model brings in a few interesting changes both at the exterior and interior to keep things afresh and lure in more customers. Read on to find what’s new in the new Perodua Alza facelift.

Perodua Alza

Exterior

From the outside, you can still easily tell that this is a Perodua Alza. However, there are a few touches that differentiate it from the previous model. The front features a new sporty bumper that has got nice lines and creases. Perodua has also used carbon fibre-like finishing to enhance the sportiness. There are now front parking sensors to help you park this long MPV in close parking spaces. The front grille has been changed as well. It gets three horizontal slats. While the middle and the last one is done in chrome, the top one has been finished in glossy black.

The side profile of the Perodua Alza facelift features new sporty side skirtings that go with the overall sporty appearance of the new model. The wheels on the facelifted model are of the same size as before but they are now done in titanium finish for that added premiumness. Moving to the rear of the vehicle, we get to see a nice horizontal chrome garnish on the tailgate. There’s also a roof-mounted rear spoiler that comes as standard across all the variants. Perodua has also added a new sporty rear bumper. And for the first time, the company is also offering its Gear Up accessories for the Alza. So, overall the new facelifted model has been made sportier than the previous model.

Interior

The interior of the Perodua Alza facelift remains more or less that same but there are a few added features worth mentioning. To keep the passengers in the third row comfortable, Perodua has implemented a fixed AC vent at the centre of the dashboard that channels conditioned air all the way towards the back of the MPV. This is a welcoming feature because the Alza doesn’t have any AC vents for the rear passengers.

The multimedia system has been given an update. It now features a navigation system and even gets Smart Link feature to connect smartphones running on Android. It also doubles up as a screen for the reverse camera. In order to entertain the rear passengers, there’s now a roof-mounted monitor. You can connect your smartphone via USB on the multimedia system and it will play on this roof-mounted monitor.

Perodua Alza feature

The seating layout and material on the Perodua Alza facelift remain the same. However, you do get a carbon fibre strip in the centre of all the seats to match the carbon fibre finish on the front bumper. It’s a nice touch.

Safety features

Perodua Alza cabin

The Perodua Alza specs include ABS and EBD as standard across the board. However, there’s no electronic stability control even in the top-end model. The number of airbags is also limited to two. We would have liked to see more of them in the facelifted model.

So, these were the new features that you will get in the facelift Alza. Perodua has left the engine untouched. It’s the same 1.5-litre 4-cylinder unit that produces 104 PS and 136 Nm of torque. There are manual and automatic transmission options available. The Perodua Alza price starts at RM 51,500 for the base model and RM 63,000 for the top-of-the-line model.
