Proton e.MAS expands into Brunei, appoints Grand Motors as official distributor
KUALA LUMPUR: Following the introduction of Proton e.MAS in Singapore, Proton has now expanded its new-energy vehicle business to Brunei, marking another step forward in its regional export strategy. The company has appointed Grand Motors Sdn Bhd as the authorised distributor of Proton e.MAS vehicles in Brunei Darussalam.

Grand Motors to handle Proton e.MAS distribution in Brunei
With more than 40 years of experience in Brunei’s automotive industry, Grand Motors will handle Proton e.MAS sales, marketing, customer engagement and after-sales support in the country. It will also operate a dedicated Proton e.MAS outlet and service centre, offering Bruneians continuous support throughout their EV ownership journey.

Help achieve Brunei net-zero carbon emissions target
The launch of Proton EVs in Brunei will contribute towards the country’s vision of achieving carbon emissions by 2035. It will encourage greater EV adoption and support the development of a low-carbon mobility ecosystem.
Grand Motor is confident in replicating the success of Proton e.MAS in Malaysia and position it as the number one EV brand in Brunei. Further details on the Proton e.MAS line-up in Brunei, showroom opening and market launch activities will be announced at a later date.
Notably, Grand Motors will only look after Proton e.MAS vehicles and PAD Motors Sdn Bhd will remain the brand’s authorised distributor in Brunei for the ICE lineup, including the Saga, S70, X50, X70 and X90.
