Toyota Malaysia releases a promotional video of all-new Yaris, featuring Janna Nick

KUALA LUMPUR: As Malaysia is all about to get 2019 Toyota Yaris very soon, the company, in a bid to promote its upcoming vehicle, has released a promotional video that vaunts the four-wheeler’s highlighted features. Prior to this, about a week ago, this hatchback version of Vios appeared on the UMW Toyota Motor’s website.

The video that surfaced on Toyota Malaysia’s Youtube channel features the country’s popular actor and singer Janna Nick. The clip starts with showing the vehicle’s power key, followed by the gear lever. Then appears the Panoramic View Monitor, which is basically the infotainment panel and is shown to have a split screen option. Thereafter, the video reveals that the vehicle is offered to choose between Eco mode and Sport mode and runs on 16-inch alloy wheels.

Furthermore, there are blind spot side view mirrors, DVD-AVX with USB mirroring that allows the buyers to cast smartphone’s screen on the infotainment display.

Moreover, the coaster gets necessary features like vehicle stability control, Hill-start assist control (HAC) and follow-me-home function. At last, the one-minute clip ends with a message that shows ‘Life Needs a Y’.

To recall, Yaris is the hatchback version of Vios sedan, which was launched two months ago. In terms of look, Yaris has well-nigh similarity to the Vios. Apart from blacked-out C-pillars and redesigned taillights, the former copies everything of the latter.

Under the hood, Yaris gets a 2NR-FE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 107 PS and a peak torque of 140 Nm. These specifications are the same as that of the Vios.

The upcoming Yaris is said to be mustered at UMW Toyota’s factory in Bukit Raja, Klang and will be available in five colour options. It will arrive in three variants, for which the estimated pricing details are already available. The base 1.5J variant carries a price tag of RM 71,888, followed by the 1.5E that costs RM 77,888, while the range-topping 1.5G will be available for RM 84,888.
