All-new 2023 Hyundai Palisade: Top 5 expected changes
The large, brawny-looking Hyundai Palisade falls in the category of the E-Segment SUVs, the space that is dominated by German SUVs such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS in Malaysia. It made its local debut last year in December and is offered in two versions - eight-seater (2-3-3) and seven-seater (2-2-3), with a choice of two engines. Although the car is kitted with all modern amenities and tech, Hyundai is set to give it an upgrade in the global market. The South Korean automaker has just teased the new Palisade ahead of its debut on April 13, 2022.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
When will all-new 2023 Hyundai Palisade reveal?
The global debut of the all-new 2023 Hyundai Palisade will happen on April 13, 2022.Now that the teaser is out, a number of questions are itching in our minds - what exterior changes will be there, what more tech will be added to the kit, when will the new version hit the Malaysian roads and so on. Not to worry, we are here to tell you what top changes you can expect to see on the all-new 2023 Hyundai Palisade.
Sharper front end
The first and foremost change you will see on the 2023 Hyundai Palisade is the new sharper front end. There is a new wider cascading front grille with rugged parametric shield elements offering a premium appearance. On the edges of the grille, we see angular headlights and a more prominent daytime running light signature. As per the automaker, the whole front end has a sharp-edged, technical appeal.
Slightly tweaked rear end
Unfortunately, we just have two teaser images of the upcoming Palisade, that do not tell us about the rear exterior changes of the three-row SUV. However, the automaker is likely to revamp it slightly to bring it in line with the sharper front face.
New multi-spoke alloy wheels
Out of the two teased images, one previews the side profile of the SUV highlighting new elegant spoke wheels. The new rims look pretty different from the pseudo-five-spoke aluminium units available on the ongoing top-spec variant. It suggests the version we see here is the upcoming full bells and whistles trim.
New convenience and tech features
No briefing on the new Palisade interior changes as of now, but we expect the addition of some new convenience and tech features. As per the camouflaged prototype images, the SUV is likely to get an updated digital instrument cluster with a slightly relocated touchscreen display.
As for reference, the ongoing Malaysia-spec Palisade comes equipped with a 7.0-inch multi-info instrument cluster display, head-up display, 8.0-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 12-way powered driver seat, 8-way powered front passenger seat, Triple-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, paddle shifters and dual powered sunroofs
No mechanical improvements
Will the new Hyundai Palisade get any underhood improvements? This is a big question whose exact answer is still unknown. The reports suggest the continuation of the current 3.8-litre naturally-aspirated V6 engine which produces a maximum power output of 295 PS at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 355 Nm at 5,200 rpm. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, enabling the SUV to hit the century sprint in 7.8 seconds before attaining a top speed of 210 kmph.
So, that’s all we have decoded from the new Hyundai Palisade teaser. Information as to when will the updated SUV hit the Malaysian roads is not available yet.
