800V Platform Brings Faster Charging and Better Efficiency
Leapmotor’s shift from a 400V to an 800V electrical architecture mirrors a growing global EV trend. The move allows for significantly faster DC charging and better compatibility with China’s expanding 250A charging infrastructure.
Official figures haven’t been released, but expect shorter wait times at fast chargers compared to the current Malaysian-spec model.

The single electric motor now produces 299 PS (295 hp or 220 kW)—up from the previous 231 PS (228 hp). By comparison, the current Malaysian-spec C10 delivers 218 PS. This power bump cuts the 0–100 km/h time to 5.9 seconds, a solid improvement over the current 7.3 seconds.
Range Boost: 605 km on a Single Charge
Battery capacity has been increased from 69.9 kWh to 74.9 kWh, using the same LFP chemistry. Leapmotor claims a 605 km CLTC range, which translates to roughly 495 km WLTP—a notable upgrade from the 424 km WLTP range of the Malaysian C10.
AC charging also sees a useful bump from 6.6 kW to 11 kW, making home charging much more convenient overnight.
Cabin and Tech Get a Refresh
Tech upgrades include the move from a Snapdragon 8155 chip to the newer Snapdragon 8295P, improving system responsiveness. Other new features include:
- Powered door handles
- 50W wireless charging pad
- New purple exterior colour option

As of now, the Malaysian-spec Leapmotor C10—launched mid 2024—still runs on the older 400V platform, and there's no official confirmation from Leapmotor Malaysia on whether the new version will be adopted locally.
That said, local CKD production is set to begin by the end of 2025, and industry trends suggest the 800V platform may eventually replace the current model. Leapmotor has ambitious plans for ASEAN, and Malaysia is a key part of that puzzle.
