2027 Zeekr 7X details emerge ahead of Q4 debut in China

KUALA LUMPUR: Zeekr’s striking electric SUV, the 7X, is set to receive an upgrade in the home market. While the automaker has yet to reveal the official details, regulatory filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Tech (MIIT) have spilt the beans. 

As per the reports, the upcoming Zeekr EV will get a new battery pack, supplied by Zhejiang Jiyao Tongxing Energy Technology. While the filing does not list the battery’s kilowatt-hour capacity or an official driving range, earlier reports suggested an 85-kWh Golden Brick battery, positioned between the existing 75-kWh and 103-kWh options.

Furthermore, the MIIT report confirmed that the upcoming Zeekr 7X will come powered by a rear-mounted electric motor generating a maximum power of 496 hp. 

In terms of appearance, the new Zeekr 7X is expected to come with redesigned bumpers, distinctive exterior mirrors, 19-, 20- and 21-inch wheels, an optional dual-tone roof and optional roof rails. However, the dimensions remain unchanged at 4,825 mm length, 1,930 mm width and 1,666 mm height, with a wheelbase of 2,925 mm.

The new Zeekr 7X is slated to launch in China in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Zeekr 7X in Malaysia

Zeekr launched the 7X in the Malaysian market last year in August. Based on Geely’s PMA2+ platform, the EV is offered in three variants - RWD Standard, RWD Long Range, and AWD Performance, with prices ranging from RM 179,800 to RM 226,800, alongside a newly launched limited-edition model, the Black Nova. 

Priced at RM 235,000, the Zeekr 7X Black Nova is limited to just 200 units and features exclusive highlights, including an all-black exterior, new 20-inch black alloy wheels and an exclusive two-tone black and grey interior. 

Available drivetrain options include a single electric motor delivering 421 PS and 440 Nm, while the AWD Performance runs on a dual-motor setup tuned to make 646 PS and 710 Nm. Two available battery packs are - 75 kWh LFP and 100 kWh NCM, offering ranges of 480 km and 615 km, respectively.
