Perodua introduces GearUp accessories for 2023 Axia

KUALA LUMPUR: Perdoua has finally launched the second-generation version of its entry-level car, the Axia. With the arrival of the upgraded hatchback also comes its latest range of GearUp accessories that lend the car a sportier look. 

Included in the 2023 Perodua Axia Gearup accessories are coil mats, carbon-fibre look scuff plates, footwell lights, a luggage compartment tray, door visors, engine hood insulation, and PVC upholstery for the seats. However, the automaker has yet to announce the pricing of these add-on elements.

As a quick recap of the 2023 Perodua Axia key highlights, the new hatchback is offered in four trims - G, X, SE, and AV. The price starts from RM 38,600 and goes all the way up to RM 49,500. All the variants of the new Axia are powered by the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated 1KR-VE engine, which churns out a maximum power output of 67 hp and a peak torque of 91 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a new D-CVT gearbox. 

Depending on the variant, the equipment kit of the new Perodua Axia comprises LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED rear combination lights, powered door locks, Smart Entry & push start button, 14-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch TFT multi-info display, 9-inch LCD touchscreen with Android Auto, semi leather seats, power mode, digital air-con controls, front corner and reverse sensors, 6 Airbags, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Auto High Beam, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Reverse Camera, and Advanced Safety Assist 3.0.

So far, Perodua has bagged over 20,100 bookings of the latest hatchback, with almost 13k of them being converted from previous generation Axia bookings. When it comes to delivery, it seems the customers will have to wait a few months as the automaker targets to deliver 5,700 units monthly.
