Recall notice: Nissan X-Trail 2.0L Hybrid called back over ‘Engine Room Harness’ issue
KUALA LUMPUR: A voluntary product recall campaign has been announced by Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) along with Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Service (TCEAS) for the Nissan X-Trail 2.0L Hybrid model.
Why? Well, there seems to be a problem with the ‘Engine Room Harness’. As per ETCM, the issue pertains to the Hybrid Power Line, damage may be caused due to interference with the car’s Transmission Control Module bracket and engine edge.
Product part of the recall campaign? All the Nissan X-Trail 2.0L Hybrid variants produced, registered, and sold between June 2018 and May 2021 are recalled by ETCM and TCEAS.
Owners of the affected X-Trail 2.0 Hybrid model will be informed by the company via letter, SMS, or WhatsApp. On receiving the information, concerned owners are requested to head to the nearest TCEAS outlets. Owners of the second-hand X-Trail Hybrid trim are also required to make an appointment to resolve the problem.
It is to be noted that all labour and parts costs will be borne by Nissan.
