Spied in the Indian Sub-Continent, 2016 Toyota Innova

KUALA LUMPUR : Clearly, there is no single size-fit all formula, as each one has its own personality. Living with the same belief, Toyota has a lot to offer to its customers this year. Ranging from SUV to MUV to pick-ups, there is a full range of cars for you to pick from. With additions such as Hilux and Fortuner that have already been unveiled, it is the all-new Innova that is set to makes its way into the market. Spied a number of times before, Innova was once again caught and this time in the Indian sub-continent.

Mysore Highway was the selected location for the test drive of this MUV segment, where it failed to slide under the camera lenses once again. Though it was fully camouflaged, we were still able to detect the changes that will accompany the all-new Innova. The car spied looked bigger than its predecessor, concluding that it will be much more spacious and comfortable. Also, it is expected that this modified version, will receive a revolutionary design change for its headlights, taillights and front grille.

Like its siblings, Hilux and Fortuner that are powered by new 'GD range' of diesel engines, that includes a 2.4L and 2.5L unit, the 2016 Innova is also expected to receive a 2.4L engine. This GD engine when mated with annual and automatic transmission is expected to make the new Innova 10 per cent more fuel efficient, as is the case with the Hilux Revo. In comparison to its earlier version, the new Innova will be safer, now its safety kit will include seven air bags, ECS and VSM.

According to the reports, this MPV is expected to have its global premiere in Thailand, later this year and is expected to be priced at 1-1.5 lakhs, more than its previous model in the Indian market. For the Malaysian market too we expect the price tag to read more as compared to the previous model.
