The Segambut facility is described as an established automotive plant with internationally recognised process standards, including ISO certifications.
Under the partnership, the plan is to combine SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW)’s EV experience with Tan Chong’s local manufacturing operations, with a focus on meeting “international quality benchmarks” while tailoring the product for Malaysian customers.
For the initial ramp-up, TQ WULING says it will run a phased production approach, with the ability to scale output depending on market demand. The brand positions this as a way to keep supply stable and maintain quality consistency as CKD operations settle in.

Pricing, launch rebate, and what early buyers get
The TQ WULING Bingo EV is offered in two variants in Malaysia:
-
Bingo PRO, RM67,800
-
Bingo MAX, RM72,800
To mark the launch, TQ WULING is rolling out “Bingo’s Fabulous 5 Perks”, which includes a RM5,000 cash rebate. With that rebate applied, the company quotes on-the-road prices of RM62,800 for the Bingo PRO and RM67,800 for the Bingo MAX.
The first 500 customers are also promised benefits worth up to RM12,000, combining the RM5,000 cash rebate with items such as battery and drive motor warranties, low monthly instalments from RM625, a complimentary 7kW home charger, a portable 3-pin charger, “TQ premium solar tinting package”, plus “17 comprehensive insurance benefits with special EV coverage”.
Bookings are open with a RM50 booking fee, either via the tqwuling.my website, at TQ WULING showrooms, or at TQ WULING roadshows.
TQ WULING is also pushing the Bingo EV’s safety positioning, highlighting six airbags and the use of 1,500 MPa ultra-high-tensile steel in the body structure. The company frames this as a structural reinforcement measure to improve rigidity and impact absorption.
Photo by Adam AubreyPositioned as a compact, city-focused EV with a retro-inspired look, the Bingo EV is pitched around practicality and ease of use. TQ WULING quotes driving range figures of:
-
Bingo PRO, up to 333 km (CLTC)
-
Bingo MAX, up to 410 km (CLTC)
As usual, it’s worth noting that CLTC is a more optimistic test cycle than WLTP, so real-world range will vary based on speed, traffic, driving style, and conditions.
Inside, TQ WULING highlights a “floating-island” style centre console and dashboard layout, plus dual 10.25-inch screens (instrumentation and infotainment). Practicality claims include 15 interior storage compartments, and a boot that can expand to up to 1,240 litres with the rear seats folded.
Colour choices listed are Milky White, Neon Blue and Lavender Purple, all paired with a contrasting black roof.
Beyond the price positioning, TQ WULING says CKD production is meant to bring a few practical advantages, including better supply stability, shorter delivery lead times, and stronger localisation for Malaysian driving conditions.
It also frames the initiative as aligned with broader government goals around EV adoption and automotive industrialisation, including local capability-building and skills development.

It reflects our long-term investment and confidence in Malaysia as a key market and production base. By combining SGMW’s global EV capabilities with Tan Chong’s decades of strong manufacturing heritage, we are building trust through quality, strengthening the local ecosystem, and laying the foundation for sustainable growth in the years ahead,” said Wan Wei Sun, Head of Business, TQ Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.
With CKD now underway, TQ WULING says it is continuing to back Malaysia’s shift towards cleaner mobility, with the Bingo EV aimed squarely at everyday urban use where price, running costs, and day-to-day practicality tend to matter most.
