UMW Toyota has given some minor upgrades to the Toyota Innova MPV and Fortuner SUV in Malaysia. Both the cars will come equipped with a new infotainment system. Along with these, the automaker has also introduced the Hilux 2.8 Black Edition.

New Toyota Infotainment System

After spending nearly four years in the automobile market, since revealed in Indonesia in November 2015, the popular MPV, Innova gets this minor update to respond to its highly competitive rivals. On the other hand, the Fortuner SUV gets similar updates as well.

In the Malaysian spec Innova lineup, only 2.0 X and 2.0 G variants get the new infotainment system, which contains a 9.0-inch touchscreen display. Furthermore, it supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Now, there is another version of the MPV, namely 2.0 E automatic, while there is no slot for the 2.0 E in its updated lineup.

As for the pricing, the Innova has not got any update. It continues to follow the brand’s SST inclusive price list, which was launched last year.

The popular SUV across the globe also gets the same infotainment system for the Malaysian market. However, only the 2.7 SRZ and 2.4 VRZ will have the new upgrade.

Though the 2.7 SRZ AT 4×4 and 2.4 VRZ AT 4×4 follow the same path like the Innova MPV as on the pricing segment, the story for the 2.4 AT 4×4 version is different as the variant comes with a price hike of RM 2,000, which makes the price RM 171,500 on-the-road excluding insurance. It looks like, Toyota has dropped a version from its Fortuner SUV lineup as the 2.4 VRZ AT 4×2 is not present in the updated price list.
