All-new 2026 Chery Tiggo 8 debuts in China; launch later this year

KUALA LUMPUR: While we are set to welcome the PHEV version of the current Tiggo 8 Pro, Chery has unveiled official images of the all-new second-generation Tiggo 8 in China. 

Set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year, the 2026 Chery Tiggo 8 features updated styling and design enhancements that set it apart from the outgoing version. Here’s all that's new.

2026 Chery Tiggo 8: What’s new?

Two distinct front fascia designs

The most notable upgrade we can see on the new Tiggo 8 are two different types of front fascia styles. 

One of the designs looks very similar to the Lepas 8 SUV and features a polygonal X-shape matrix decorated front grille and split headlights. Lepas is a newly established sub-brand under Chery International that is also set to enter the Malaysian market soon. 

The alternative front fascia features a polygonal diamond-shaped matrix grille, flanked by a single-body headlight unit that closely resembles the design of the outgoing Tiggo 8 Pro Max.

Bigger dimensions 

The new Chery Tiggo 8 measures 4749 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, 1710 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2825 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the new Chery model is 27 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 35 mm shorter. Additionally, the wheelbase has also grown by 115 mm, promising ample cabin space and a stable riding experience.

While no interior photos have been revealed, the new Tiggo 8 is expected to come with important cosmetic tweaks and advanced technology. As for under the hood setup, we can expect a more powerful engine. For reference, the Lepas L8 is offered with multiple powertrains: a turbocharged petrol engine, a plug-in hybrid setup, and a fully electric version in the global market.
