All-new Toyota Camry facelift introduced in Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR: The new Camry facelift is now part of the Toyota Indonesia lineup, thus becoming the second country after Singapore to benefit from the updated sedan. It comes as a surprise that the same is missing from the Toyota Thailand range being the biggest producer of Toyota vehicles globally.

Let us now check the new Camry in detail, starting with the variant offered.

Toyota Camry facelift variants -

The Indonesia-spec Camry is offered in two variant options - 2.5-litre petrol and 2.5-litre self-charging hybrid.

Toyota Camry facelift exterior -

On the outside, the new Camry gets minor styling revisions in the form of a revised front bumper, rim design, and radiator grille. The rear-end of the car remains untouched, the same as before.

Toyota Camry facelift interior -

Unlike the exterior, the Camry’s cabin showcases several changes including a new floating 9-inch infotainment display and air-con switch panel. The hybrid variant exclusively gets a JBL sound system, a Nanoe air purifier, and an executive rear seat package.

The latter includes a digital controller for the front infotainment system and seat back adjustment. As a bonus, the Camry Hybrid facelift also gets Toyota T Intouch smart telematics connection.

Toyota Camry facelift engine -

The Camry Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-litre mill with a Dynamic Force design coupled with Toyota’s dual-motor-generator setup. The said layout makes a maximum power of 211 hp. On the performance front, the 4th gen self-charging hybrid system of the mid-sized sedan completes the century sprint in 8.3 seconds.

The new Camry hybrid underpins TNGA platform wherein the Ni-Mh battery pack is positioned under the rear seats, making the boot spacious at 524-litres.

As for the Camry 2.5V petrol variant, it is powered by the automaker’s latest 2.5-litre Dynamic Force mill making a maximum power of 204 hp along with a peak torque of 243 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota Camry facelift price

The new Camry petrol variant retails for IDR 637 million (approx. RM 185k), while the hybrid trim is offered for IDR 767 million (approx. RM 223k).
