20 Supercharging hubs planned across four countries
The collaboration will see at least 20 Direct Current (DC) supercharging stations installed in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
Each site will be capable of delivering charging speeds of up to 480kW DC, with XPENG’s 5C supercharging technology enabling compatible EVs to charge from 10% to 80% in about 12 minutes.
Four sites are already operational under the first phase:
-
Royal Square Novena, Singapore
-
Downtown East, Singapore
-
KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
-
One Bangkok, Thailand
At KL Eco City, six ultra-fast chargers have been installed, delivering up to 350kW DC – making it the fastest public charging facility in Kuala Lumpur at present.
Charge+ and XPENG said the second rollout phase will include more stations in existing markets and expansion into Indonesia. Sites will be located at busy commercial centres, malls and highway rest stops to support long-distance EV travel across the region.
The project also ties into Charge+’s ongoing development of a 5,000km EV charging highway connecting Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Once complete, it will be Southeast Asia’s longest cross-border charging backbone.
XPENG owners to get discounts and app Integration
As part of the deal, XPENG EV owners will enjoy exclusive charging discounts at Charge+’s public network in Southeast Asia for three years, plus further savings at the co-branded supercharging hubs.
From 2025, XPENG drivers will be able to locate, start and stop charging sessions directly via the XPENG mobile app, with integration into the car’s dashboard also planned.
The partnership was officially launched at Charge+’s Beyond X office, with senior leadership from both companies present. Among them were Charge+ CEO Goh Chee Kiong, XPENG Charging General Manager Gao Xiang, XPENG Overseas Charging General Manager Lawrence Li, Premium Automobile Group Managing Director Lee Hoe Lone, and Charge+ COO Koh Xiao Han.
Speaking at the event, Goh said:
“As the largest EV charging operator in Southeast Asia, Charge+ continues its mission to catalyse electric mobility in the region with its visionary 5,000km EV charging highway that connects Singapore to Hanoi. This partnership with XPENG reflects our shared commitment to enable a seamless experience for long-distance, cross-border driving.”
XPENG’s Gao Xiang added:
“Supercharging has been a core focus of XPENG, with all EV models using technologies such as 800V platforms and 5C batteries to achieve ultra-fast charging. As XPENG continues to bring its innovative EVs to this region, we are confident we will be able to unlock new opportunities together with Charge+.”
If you're unfamiliar with the company, Charge+ operates over 5,000 charging points across Southeast Asia and aims to reach 30,000 by 2030. The Singapore-based company has a presence in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia, serving residential, commercial and industrial markets.
