Malaysia Autoshow 2019: New GearUp accessories now available for Perodua Aruz

KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua launched the new Aruz in Malaysia at the beginning of 2019 with much song and dance. The seven-seater Aruz is the local carmaker’s flagship model and represents a much better value-for-money deal when compared to its lookalike from Japan. Even though the Perodua Aruz is a new model, the company has already initiated a move to make it even more attractive for its customers. Now, it’s no surprise that many Malaysians like to accessorise their cars to either add a sense of extra personality or to make them stand out from the regular models on the street. Realising this potential, Perodua had earlier partnered with the aftermarket car accessories producer GearUp to try and spice up the Aruz.

However, now, GearUp has introduced a few new accessories on top of what was already available and is displayed at Malaysia Autoshow 2019. With these new items being added, the list of GearUp goodies available for the Perodua Aruz is quite extensive. What’s even better is the fact that these newer add-ons are applicable for both new and existing customers of the Aruz. On the exterior, the most notable additions include front and rear skirts with bright red accents and door visors for added protection and some style, of course.

On the inside, customers can opt for new leather seat covers with red stitching, centre armrest with a useable cubby for storage, and a retractable cargo blind for extra privacy. The cost of the red-accented skirts and door visors are RM700 and RM160, respectively. While the former is a new introduction, the latter isn’t. As for the list price of the new interior accessories, they cost RM950, RM180, and RM250, respectively.

As for the car itself, the new 2019 Perodua Aruz retails for between RM 72,900 for the base 1.5X trim and RM 77,900 for the fully-loaded 1.5AV variant. Under the bonnet of the Aruz is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder motor which makes 101 hp and 133 Nm of torque, all of which is directed towards the rear via a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Its top speed is around 175 kmph, while 0-100 kmph takes approximately 13 seconds.
