Perodua Aruz: What makes it the new go-to SUV?
Ever since its launch, the Perodua Aruz is seen an ultimate compact SUV for a few genuine reasons. One is that it is the product of the Malaysia born automaker that's been in business for almost fourteen years now and understands the local need better than any foreign car manufacturer. This fact is a clear indication of the responsibility and authority Perodua brings to the table when building a new car or giving an existing one a complete overhaul.

And the second reason is that the Aruz has proved to be a multi-tasker. The Perodua SUV in addition to impressing the customers with its smooth commuting skills has engaged them with its striking looks and excellent feature offerings. Undoubtedly, all this and more makes the Perodua Aruz a practical car. Before going forward, a brief on Aruz price & variant details -
- Perodua Aruz 1.5 X - RM 72,900
- Perodua Aruz 1.5 Advance - RM 77,900
Here are a few reasons why Perodua Aruz should be considered while buying a B-segment SUV -
Redefined exterior styling
It is a well-known fact that the Aruz takes a lot of design inspiration from the Toyota Rush. The two cars almost look identical at some point. Moving on the overall outer stance of the highlights a robust look. And all this is complemented by an impressive set of dimension specs.

Enough with the measuring scale, what caught our attention next were the design elements on the Aruz’s aerodynamic body. At the front are features like LED headlamps with Follow-Me-Home function and light guides, bold front grille, and illumination fog lamps with the stylish triangular casing. On the side, the 17-inch alloy wheels steal the show, plus the side stone guard and roof rails only contribute to its road presence. The Peruda Aruz looks no less from the back, the wrap-around rear combination lamps, silver coated rear diffuser, and chrome and black garnish on the tailgate, all add up to its stunning profile.
Convenient and spacious cabin
Open the door, and you’ll find the Aruz equally premium and plush as the exterior. The cabin has been done in high-grade material that’s a constant across the variants. Commuting in this SUV is comfortable and enjoyable all thanks to the fantastic set of technology installed. Starting from the driver’s arena, the Aruz offers height adjustable driver’s seat, multi-functional steering wheel with tilt function, and informative instrumental panel. Adding to the driver’s convenience are auto light control, push start/stop button, central lock button, and reverse camera. Adding elegance to the setup is the soft-touch surface with chrome highlights.

As known, the Aruz is a seven-seater SUV, and that means you can go on a family trip in the car. However, what’s impressive is its flexible seating arrangement. Depending on your need the vehicle can fit into many roles via various modes like - 5-Seater, Sports, Leisure, Normal, and Long Item.
Connectivity and beyond

Without a doubt, the Perodua Aruz is a loaded car. The car has a lot to offer concerning entertainment and connectivity. Ruling the dashboard is a touchscreen audio system with navigation, ‘Smart Link’ for Android, and HDMI. The passengers at the second and third-row can charge their devices via dedicated 12V ports. The six smartly placed speakers ensure no fun, or even a beat gets missed. The digital air-con system helps maintain perfect cabin temperature and giving it a hand in the task, is the rear air-con vent.
Enhanced performance
The Perodua Aruz is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, DOHC engine, the same mill is seen under the Rush and Myvi. It produces 105 PS of power at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 136 Nm at 4200 rpm. This Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) engine claims to offer 15.6 kmpl of fuel economy. All these thanks to the Dual VVT-i and Eco Idle (auto start-stop) function. The 4-speed automatic transmission system is standard across the range. Also, the 220 mm of ground clearance adds to car’s riding ability on off-road terrains.
Strong safety shield

It's time now to discuss Perodua Aruz safety features, and out of all its features, this section impressed us the most. Unlike its competitors, the Toyota Rush and Honda BR-V, the Aruz safety kit is bigger and better. ASEAN NCAP awarded the car 5-star safety rating, and you can check the details of the test here. Let’s first talk about the standard safety features, both the trims get 6-airbags, Traction Control system taking care of the slippery roads, ABS with EBD and BA, Emergency Stop Signal, Hill-start Assist, reverse camera, solar and security window film, and ISOFIX. The range-topping trim, i.e., the 1.5 Advance gets the added benefits of Advanced Safety Assist 2.0 with pedestrian detection.

The all-new Aruz color card includes five options - Amazon Green, Granite Grey, Electric Blue, Glittering Silver, and Ivory White. The car was launched only a while back and is getting a positive response, courtesy Aruz spec sheet that's packed with amazing features.
