Update: 2020 Perodua Bezza facelift booked 15,000 times

KUALA LUMPUR: Launched earlier this month, the new Perodua Bezza facelift is garnering love from the locals. With refreshed cosmetics, new standard features and advanced safety suite, it’s proving to be the preferred choice for A-segment buyers. Since the start of 2020, the company has recorded a total of 7,000 bookings, while the remaining 8,000 came at the end of 2019.

Though the bookings made at the end of 2019 were for the pre-facelift model, they were automatically converted to the facelift model after its launch. The company has said that it has already delivered 2,000 Bezza to the customers. 

Perodua’s CEO and president, Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad said, “We estimate that we have about 13,000 unfulfilled bookings (inclusive of other models) in total from last year. To our valued customers, we are fully aware of the matter and are addressing it as much as we can. We appreciate your patience and apologise for the wait,” on unfulfilled bookings from last year. 

Perodua revealed that over the past three and a half years, a total of 184,000 units of Bezza were sold, meeting a consistent monthly sales figure between 4,000 and 4,500 units. With the launch of the facelift model too, the company plans to keep intact the monthly sales figure of 4,000 units after an initial estimation of delivering 5,600 units by the end of January 2020.

The facelift Bezza is available in four variants (all prices mentioned below are OTR without insurance), 

• 1.0L G Manual: RM 34,580
• 1.0L G Auto: RM 36,580
• 1.3L X Auto: RM 43,980
• 1.3L AV Auto: RM 49,980

The higher 1.3-litre models get Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), while the top-spec Bezza AV model gets Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 that comprises of features like Pre-Collision Warning (up to 100 kmph), Pre-Collision Braking (up to 80 kmph), Pedestrian Detection (up to 50 kmph), Pedal Misoperation Control and Front Departure Alert.

On the economy front, the 1.3-litre Bezza with Eco Idle function is claimed to yield a fuel economy of 22 kmpl. The 1.0-litre Bezza, on the other hand, is good for 21.3 kmpl in ideal driving conditions.
