Zeekr partners with Carro — New showrooms and services coming soon

KUALA LUMPUR: Premium Chinese EV brand Zeekr is doubling down on its Malaysian push by appointing Carro as its latest authorised dealer, in a move aimed at improving accessibility to its electric vehicles while expanding aftersales support and financial services.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What does the Zeekr and Carro partnership include in Malaysia?
The collaboration will see four new Zeekr Space showrooms and three Carro Care workshops set up, along with bundled services like financing, insurance, maintenance, and body & paint solutions for EV buyers.Which Zeekr models are available in Malaysia and how much do they cost?
The Zeekr 009 MPV (from RM310,000 to RM359,800) and Zeekr X SUV (from RM155,800 to RM172,800) are both available for booking, either at Zeekr Space outlets or online at carro.co/zeekr.The partnership, inked via a Memorandum of Understanding at Carro’s flagship outlet in Puchong, marks another milestone in Zeekr’s Malaysian journey, which began in December 2024 with the launch of the 009 MPV and the X SUV.

The partnership not only marks Carro’s official entry into new car sales in Malaysia—after testing the waters with parallel-imported models in Singapore—but also reinforces Zeekr’s long-term commitment to the local market.
By teaming up with one of Malaysia’s most trusted automotive platforms, Zeekr is sending a clear message: it’s here to stay, with Carro acting as a strong and credible anchor for its premium EV ambitions in Malaysia.

Zeekr’s Managing Director for Southeast Asia, Alex Bao, said the brand is encouraged by the strong reception so far and is looking to scale up its presence quickly.
“The positive response we have received from the Malaysian market over the past few months reflects the growing appreciation for Zeekr’s premium electric vehicles,” Bao said. “Our partnership with Carro represents a significant milestone—enhancing both our sales network and after-sales capabilities to better support our customers. This collaboration also aligns with our broader business strategy as we prepare for the introduction of our next important model, the Zeekr 7X.”

What’s planned
As part of the collaboration, Carro will open four new Zeekr Space showrooms — including outlets in Juru Autocity, the Klang Valley, and Seremban — adding to the existing locations in Petaling Jaya and IOI Mall Puchong. Three Carro Care workshops will also be set up to handle maintenance and repairs.
Carro’s ecosystem brings more than just showrooms into the equation. Buyers will have access to financing via Genie Financial Services, insurance through Coverro, and standard aftersales services with Carro Care.
Carro’s International Marketplace CEO, Fong Hon Sum, highlighted the growing demand for EVs in Malaysia as a key reason for the tie-up.
“We’re seeing a growing market in Malaysia for hybrid and electric vehicles, with developing infrastructure and tax exemptions in place,” he said. “Our expertise within the EV sector has us well-placed to handle inspections, repairs, and maintenance, and we’re so excited to have Zeekr as our partner.”

Second market for new car sales
This partnership marks Carro’s second market expansion into brand-new car sales, after launching parallel-imported new vehicles in Singapore earlier this year.
For Malaysia, Carro is now moving beyond the used-car space, signalling its ambitions to grow further in the EV retail market.
ZEEKR, meanwhile, continues to present itself as a serious contender in the premium EV space — especially as it prepares to introduce more models like the upcoming Zeekr 7X in the region.
Part of the Geely Holding Group, Zeekr is headquartered in Zhejiang, China, and operates alongside Lynk & Co under the Zeekr Group.
The company is vertically integrated, developing its own software, e-powertrains, and EV components, with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and global scalability.
