Zeekr set to bring 3 new models to Malaysia – Zeekr 9X on the cards?

KUALA LUMPUR: Zeekr, one of the newly-launched EV brands in Malaysia, has been gaining attention from local consumers, with the Zeekr 7X positioned among the top 10 selling EVs in the country. The automaker sold a total of 2,560 cars in 2025 and is now well-prepared to gain momentum this year, aiming for a three-year cumulative target (2025 to 2027) of 10,000 units.

Speaking of big plans, Zeekr Malaysia is set to introduce three new models in 2026, including the brand’s flagship SUV. While the automaker did not reveal the model name, the silhouettes and the ‘flagship SUV’ tag strongly suggest that it is the Zeekr 9X. 

Globally introduced at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, the Zeekr 9X is a plug-in hybrid SUV that brings a lot of tech and cutting-edge features on board, setting new benchmarks in the category. 

While no information is yet available for the local market, we can refer to the global-spec Zeekr 9X to get an idea of what this futuristic SUV has in store.

Zeekr 9X: Key highlights 

• Built on the SEA-S platform, the Zeekr 9X is a full-size SUV that measures 5,239 mm in length, 2,029 mm in width, and 1,819 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 3,169 mm. 

• At the core lies a Super Hybrid system, combining a powerful 279 PS 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with three electric motors (top-spec version), which has a combined output of 1,400 PS and 1,410 Nm, and a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of just 3.1 seconds. The top speed is rated at 240 kmph.
• Two available battery packs are - 55 kWh and 70 kWh battery, delivering an all-electric range of up to 380 km. The combined range varies between 1,165 km and 1,250 km, depending on the variant picked. 

• Based on a revolutionary 900V high-voltage architecture, the Zeekr 9X supports the ultra-fast 6C charging technology.
• Zeekr’s flagship SUV also features Haohan AI Digital Chassis, including advanced air suspension, active roll control, and smart drive modes. 
• Interior highlights comprise - dual 16-inch screens, 47-inch AR head-up display, 17-inch 3K display on the ceiling for rear passengers, Cloud Lounge seats, lumbar support with 22-point massage for both rows, 180-degree rotable second-row seats, 6.3-inch removable OLED rear centre console display, 3,800W Naim audio system, and an AI voice assistant named Eva.
• As for safety, it incorporates the G-Pilot H7 driver assistance system backed by LiDAR sensors and Nvidia chips.

The other two upcoming Zeekr models were featured as “Compact Premium SUV refresh” and  “Luxury Redefined MPV” in the media presentation, hinting at the Zeekr X facelift and a new variant of the Zeekr 009. For further updates on upcoming Zeekr cars in Malaysia, stay tuned with us.
