iCAUR 03 launches in Malaysia – First fully electric Off-Road SUV, from RM119,800

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s EV market has welcomed a new contender with the official launch of the iCAUR 03, the brand’s first model for the local market and billed as the country’s first fully electric off-road SUV.

Priced from RM119,800, the C-segment SUV introduces what the company calls the “adventure BEV” segment, combining rugged design, safety-focused engineering, and practical everyday usability.

Dimensions, Off-Road capabilities, Battery Safety

The iCAUR 03 measures 4,406 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, and 1,715 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. Short overhangs provide genuine off-road geometry — 28-degree approach angle, 32-degree departure angle, and the ability to climb gradients of up to 55%.

Built on an aluminium monocoque chassis, the iCAUR 03 debuts the brand’s iCARE safety system. With anti-corrosion protection rated for 30 years and torsional rigidity of 31,882 Nm, the SUV claims structural stiffness exceeding that of many sports cars.

Battery safety is addressed with a 4-layer IPX8 protection system, combining mica ceramic barriers and reinforced aluminium plates.

Powertrain Options

As mentioned earlier, there are two variants are available, and here are their specifications:

• 2WD (rear motor): 135 kW (184 PS), 220 Nm

• iWD (Intelligent Wheel Drive) (dual-motor AWD): 205 kW (279 PS), 385 Nm

The 2WD runs a 65.7 kWh LFP battery with 426 km NEDC range, while the iWD uses a 69.8 kWh pack with up to 418 km NEDC range.

Charging supports 80 kW DC fast charging, 6.6 kW AC, plus a 3.2 kW V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function for powering appliances.

The iROAD system provides 10 drive modes for different terrains, paired with a rigid H-arm multilink rear suspension.

ADAS and Safety Tech

ADAS Level 2 is standard, with a suite including AEB, ACC, Traffic Jam Assist, Blindspot Detection, Lane Departure Prevention, and more. Six airbags are included across all models.

Interior and Tech

The dashboard features a 15.6-inch HD central touchscreen (Snapdragon 8155 processor) and a 9.2-inch instrument cluster.

Connectivity: Android Auto, Apple CarPlay.
Audio: 12-speaker INFINITY system (iWD only).
Comfort: ventilated and massage front seats (iWD), rear ventilated seats, 450-litre boot (expandable to 1,238L). An additional 40-litre rear cargo box is fitted to the tailgate.

Local Assembly and Network Plans

While initially CBU imported, local assembly begins January 2026 at the Chery Corporate Malaysia plant in Shah Alam.

By September 2025, iCAUR plans to expand to 18 sales outlets and 9 service centres, including Sabah and Sarawak.

Colours

The new electric vehicle is available in Silver, Grey, White, Black, and Aurora Green.

iCAUR Malaysia vice president Emily Lek said the decision to debut in Malaysia was deliberate:

“Defined by its core tenet — ‘Born to Play’ — every iCAUR model embodies intelligence, innovation, and interaction. These vehicles are an extension of oneself, crafted for explorers, trendsetters, and the young at heart.”

She added:

“As the first global market to launch the brand, our preparation in Malaysia has been purposeful, energetic, and swift. Today, we go beyond introducing a new model; we are ready to prove our capability and define a new genre: the adventure EV.”
