TRD Japan Unveils New Body Kit for 2016 Lexus RX

Kuala Lumpur: Toyota Racing Development (TRD) Japan has recently unveiled new body kit for 2016 Lexus RX. The fourth-generation Lexus RX has been tuned with a new aggressive yet highly functional exterior styling package – F Sport styling package, as TRD calls it, includes a new front spoiler, side skirt, sports muffler and a rear diffuser. Also, there is a set of new 20-inch multi-spoke forged aluminium wheels to reinforce the new look.

According to TRD, the F Sport Styling package not only gives 2016 Lexus RX a more aggressive look but also improves the straight-line stability of the SUV by improving aerodynamics, reducing the wind resistance and optimizing the airflow around the vehicle.

While the interior and performance specs of the fourth-generation Lexus RX remains unchanged, it gets two new performance dampers, each located at the front and rear, which according to to TRD, improves the steering stability and drive comfort of 2016 Lexus RX by effectively “reducing deformation, noise and vibration while on the road”.

The fourth-generation Lexus RX made its global debut earlier this year in April at New York International Auto Show. While, the SUV arrived in Japan last month (October), we can expect its Malaysia debut before the end of the year. 2016 Lexus RX comes with various powertrain options such as RX 350, RX 450 Hybrid and the RX 200t replacing the old RX 270. In the Japanese market, the fourth-generation gets a 3.5L V6 engine (which powers Lexus RX 350 in U.S.) mated with an electric motor to form the RX 450 Hybrid. Both versions can make 300bhp of power. The Japanese variant also gets the new 2.0L turbocharged four-pot engine that produces 235hp of power and 350 Nm of torque.
