KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s first homegrown electric vehicle, the Perodua QV-E, has finally seen the light of day. This highly-awaited EV is a part of the national automaker's agenda to develop a sustainable EV ecosystem in the country. Perodua QV-E safety features
Well, the credit for the outstanding performance goes to the vehicle's robust structural design and the long list of standard and advanced safety assist technologies. It is equipped with six airbags, an anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, seatbelt reminder system (front and rear), rear seat occupant detection, pedestrian protection, ISOFIX for child safety seats, and child presence detection.

First Malaysian vehicle to undergo CPD assessment
Notably, the Perodua QV-E is the first Malaysian vehicle to undergo assessment of Child Presence Detection (CPD) functionality using direct-sensing technology under the rigorous ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 protocol. It addresses the rising concern surrounding children being forgotten in vehicles.
“The Perodua QV-E is a testament to Malaysian ingenuity, developed locally in line with the Government’s push for domestic EV manufacturing. Perodua has successfully delivered on its objective: making electric mobility accessible to the broader Malaysian public”, said ASEAN NCAP in the official press release.
